About Dance Therapy Singapore
“When you learn to use your body well, not only will you not injure yourself, but discover new ways to come alive and become joyful.” -Vincent Yong
When Vincent was in his late teens, he discovered the life-changing effects of dancing. It brought him back to how he had survived his childhood, filled with traumatic experiences from medical to domestic issues, through “rhythmic movements.” These movements were his innate way to unknowingly regulate stressors. (More of his background will be shared in classes.)
After winning a dance competition during his tertiary engineering education, Vincent followed his heart and pursued dance as a profession. However, he was met with scorn, dissuasion, mockery, and judgment. He was even questioned if he was gay!
All that from just wanting to dance… If you have ever wanted to do something different and live a different life but were laughed and mocked into being your old self again, PAUSE right here. You can redesign your life. You can choreograph a new way to think and feel by engaging with the resources that lie inside of you.

Owning your first property is an important milestone, and navigating it in Singapore’s real estate climate can oftentimes be slightly confusing and scary.
In this in-person event, to be held at Proud Spaces on Tuesday 18 June at 6.30pm, the members of Haus of Pride aims to simply and demystify the process of owning your first home.
We aim to cover the policies of home ownership for singles, your options (including HDB BTO and new launch, and resale for both public and private housing), basic calculations and legal/estate planning matters. You would also have the opportunity to talk us to discuss your home ownership plans.
In particular for this edition, we want to highlight the need to start planning early, especially in today’s rising housing costs.
So come join us for this event (simple refreshments will be provided!). See you then!

27 April 2023: Feminism for All Workshop
Please note that users have experienced difficulties checking out on Safari – we recommend using Chrome or Firefox.
What does it mean to call yourself a feminist? What are feminist ideologies and how can we apply them to our daily lives? What are the most expedient ways to fight for gender equality?
These questions might not always have neatly defined answers. After all, the ideas and the discourse around feminism can be complicated – especially when theory comes up against the complexities of reality.
Feminism For All is a workshop for anyone who wants a dedicated occasion to discuss, unpack and gain a better understanding of feminism. Whether you are curious to learn more about gender equality in the Singaporean context, or want to advance along your own feminist learning journey, this interactive workshop will provide an overview of the foundational principles behind the movement, outline how they inform AWARE’s work, and empower you to apply various feminist values to your daily life.
This hands-on, in-person masterclass led by AWARE members will have interactive segments, including small discussion groups and presentations.
Workshop outline:
- Introduction to key terms
- Brief history of feminism
- Overview of core feminist concepts
- Feminism in Singapore
- AWARE’s work
- Q&A
The entry fee for this event will go towards refreshments for all attendees.
