Thugshop X FomoHomo Presents – XOXO feat. JONNYVICIOUS
Experience the absolute fabulousness of JonnyVicious at MDLR! Join us for a night of electrifying beats and irresistible vibes that will leave you breathless. Don’t miss out on this sensational night!
JonnyVicious, a young and mischievous disc jockey, credits his musical intelligence to everything he has heard since the age of a zygote. He is a creature that evolved in an environment led by the foundation of curiosity and laughter. Intuitive and diverse, he enjoys mixing in sounds from far and wide, adding in the bells of religious controversy and food. He lives, breathes, and has been enslaved by the rhythmic power of making rooms full of earthlings move spastically. He is one with the earth, and the earth is one with him.
JonnyVicious is the creative and visual programmer of KL’s oldest running underground joint, Pisco Bar. With class acts being brought in over a span of 6 years, Pisco Bar has been a standpoint for many amazing underground DJs in the city. JonnyVicious is known for his colorful yet extremely unpredictable sets. One moment you could catch him playing a fireball disco set, and the next he could be down the techno rabbit hole, serving up the darkest of the darkest.

Thugshop Presents – All Night Long with SCHACKE
Are you ready to get back on your favourite dance floor for some weekend debauchery? Step into Headquarters and prepare to rumble as Schacke rattles the cage with stomping bangers and cerebral techno just the way you like it.
Based in Copenhagen, the half Danish half South Korean musician Schacke has been producing sounds of a large variety of different styles since their early teens. Starting with a background in Metal, Noise, and Industrial, Schacke has continually shown a determination to expand and evolve their universe through the exploration of electronic music. Since moving to Copenhagen around ten years ago, Schacke has run an underground label for experimental music, co-owned and run the legendary Mayhem venue in Copenhagen, and released music under a variety of different aliases on local and international labels.
As one of the original members of the Fast Forward collective and agency, Schacke has played a significant role in shaping and defining what has become known as the ‘’Copenhagen Techno Sound’’, which they helped pioneer with their first two techno records on the now-defunct Ectotherm label between 2015-2017 started by Mama Snake and Courtesy. Schacke is also a resident DJ and event organizer at the famous queer sex parties by feminist porn production company ‘’Bedside Productions’’.
Schacke draws inspiration from a wide range of different genres, usually using techno as only a template to explore and make genre-bending fusions using a mixture of unlikely sources. With the combination of hard-hitting beats and rolling baselines, usually mixed with catchy leads and euro vocals, their tracks are always bound together with precise execution of delicately layered textures, making Schacke’s techno distinctly recognizable yet strangely unpredictable.

Thugshop Presents – VOLVOX
“Uneasy times call for uneasy music, which makes New York’s Volvox just the DJ we need right now.” – Philip Sherburne, Pitchfork
A dominant force on the Brooklyn underground scene, Volvox is known for tough, stripped-back techno and groovy, acid-flavored sets. She has been a busy DJ and event producer since 2006 and in that time has shared the decks with many international stars including The Black Madonna, Marcel Dettmann, DVS1, The Hacker, Legowelt and Mike Servito.
Based in NYC since 2011, Volvox holds two monthly residencies: JACK DEPT. NYC at Bossa Nova Civic Club is a top event of the notorious hotspot that’s focused on an acidic house party vibe featuring standout DJs and producers from across the burgeoning American scene. The mighty UNTER party pushes the harder edges of techno and for the last 5 years has been lauded as the best after-hours in New York.
Raised in Buffalo, New York, her early experiences in the industrial and rave scenes of rust-belt America shaped her outlook on dance culture. An ardent supporter of the underground, she was a key figure in developing the electronic music scene in Boston, Massachusetts from 2007-2010.
Breaking out internationally in 2015 she has enjoyed a busy tour schedule including noted appearances at Dekmantel and the ascendant Sustain-Release festival in upstate New York. Since then she has toured extensively across Europe and makes regular appearances at Berghain/Panorama Bar in Berlin. She tours South America yearly and visited Asia for the first time this spring.
Volvox is a unique character on the US scene guaranteed to bring a high energy show that lights up dance floors with an undeniable spirit.

Continue readingThugshop presents – PEACH & ISABELLA
We’re ready to blaze up your favourite dance floor with Peach and ISAbella in the purple haze of Tuff Club. Expect a night of vibrant house grooves and joyous electronic sounds to soundtrack your weekend.
Peach’s DJ bio simply reads: “Ball of energy.” And that’s exactly what she brings each and every time. The Toronto-born, London-based DJ has made high impact, thrillingly eclectic sets an art form in the last few years having first started to turn heads with her brilliantly broad radio shows on NTS. Her dynamism also carries over into the music she has produced for labels like Midland’s Intergraded and Shanti Celeste and Gramrcy’s Peach Discs.
Peach’s signature passionate style runs all the way through this week’s mix. From the flurry of jungle breakbeats that open it up to the prickly bass, frenetic club rhythms and euphoric rave of the midpoint, it’s an unrelenting ride. The second half becomes more spaced out, with roomier cuts and hypnotic grooves carrying you through the night and into the next morning.
A native of Colombia and one of the leading figures of the Barcelona club scene, ISAbella has always been passionate about music, but it’s in Barcelona that she’s come into her own as an artist. In 2016, she started the Mistress club night, but it was two years later that she helped launch MARICAS, which immediately injected a new (and distinctly queer) energy into Barcelona nightlife. It didn’t take long for the city—or the wider dance music world—to take notice. In 2020, ISAbella kicked off the MARICAS Records label with her debut EP Audio Exótica, and also spearheaded the livestream series MARICAS: The Art of Staying at Home, which provided a beacon of light during the darkness of lockdown.
Since then, she’s continued to produce, contributing tracks to compilations on Peach Discs and MARICAS Records, and has also leveled up her craft as a DJ, bringing her life-affirming mix of house, techno and trance to a slew of world-renowned festivals (Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, Love International, Dekmantel Selectors) and nightclubs (Fabric, Robert Johnson, ://about blank, OHM, Kaiku, Concrete). MARICAS opened the door to all that, but ISAbella has now burst through it, and she’s determined to bring her entire community along for the ride.

26 April 2023: Sexual Assault First Responder Training (Online Session)
Please note this workshop will be online only (Singapore time). Participants will be emailed the Zoom link shortly before the session date. As a commitment to this training we will be asking all participants to turn on their video throughout the session.
“Are you sure that happened? Why didn’t you fight back? You should have known better.” These are some common responses survivors of sexual assault have heard, which may further their feelings of doubt, guilt and shame.
It is not always easy for survivors to tell someone about what happened; in fact, for some survivors, it can be especially daunting. So the way their loved ones respond becomes pivotal in their journey of recovery. First response that is sensitive to a survivor’s needs and choices is necessary in preventing re-victimisation.
This Sexual Assault First Responder Training helps familiarise participants with trauma reactions and symptoms to better contribute to a survivor’s well-being. In this workshop, we will share more on the following:
- Definition of sexual assault and harassment
- Recognising Singapore’s legal framework
- Understanding consent
- Understanding the impact of sexual assault and trauma on survivors
- Role of a first responder
- Providing support to survivors of sexual assault
- Resources available for help
- Key skills such as ensuring safety, active listening and empathy
We want this workshop to be accessible to everyone, and require your generous contribution to keep it running. While you are welcome to give any amount you wish, we suggest a minimum of $30 per person. No tax deduction will be provided. Note that Eventbrite requires a minimum contribution of $1. If for financial reasons you require a waiver of this minimum contribution, please email gec@aware.org.sg.
Note as well that we are unable to accommodate transfers and cancellations if participants are unable to attend after payment has been made.
Persons of all genders and nationalities are more than welcome to attend.
We strongly request that all participants commit to the full duration of the 3-hour workshop (there are breaks!) to ensure that everyone will get the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions and learn useful skills.
