MISS HOMO: PRIDE

This June 1st, MISS HOMO kicks off Pride Month to serve more slutty spectacles & rainbow realness than ever before! It’s “June” which means LET’S F*CKING GOOO forward and fearless! Come share space in our beautiful Queertopia, where labels and identities are as fluid as the genre of music we’ll explore.

Start Pride Month right and connect with one another through the best 6-hour queer rave you could possibly imagine this June, with HAAi, RAUMTESTER, CANDICEB, LOYBOY.

Happy Pride Month, queers and queer enthusiasts!

HAAi (Australia)

A need for experimentation, exploring new sounds and new ways of making music – the inspiration driving HAAi, the Australian-born London-based DJ who continues an incredible couple of years by releasing her first EP on the prestigious label Mute Records. HAAi, aka Teneil Throssell hosted Coconut Beats parties in Dalston which led to shows on Rinse FM and Worldwide FM, and eventually to a prestigious residency at the London club Phonox where Throssell played Saturday nights for two years (up until autumn 2018), a rarity in the city’s nightlife.

As her residency came to end, BBC Radio 1 broadcast her Essential Mix which went on to win the accolade of the Essential Mix of the Year, alumni of which include Helena Hauff, Caribou, Nicolas Jaar, Flying Lotus and Ben Klock. HAAi was then granted a monthly Radio 1 slot, which continues into 2020.

HAAi has won over crowds at renowned events such as Sonar Festival, Glastonbury, Tomorrowland, been responsible for an incredibly memorable Boiler Room and found an ever-increasing fanbase internationally who have bought into her eclectic selections.

HAAi’s taste in music is unique and diverse, revelling in tracks full of intricate detail and character. Her sets are infused with heavy bass lines – from breaks to thumping techno – as well as all manner of percussive elements.

RAUMTESTER

(Berlin)

Raumtester (with his real name being Sergei) is a Smalltown boy from Russia based in Berlin now. Over the past decade he has come a long way from an enthusiastic EDM listener to a resident of game-changing musical collectives. He is a fresh and outstanding face of the new wave of Techno artists whose appearance is complemententing and exciting the international electronic music scene.

Raumtester has been DJing professionally since 2015. During this time, he has managed to be a resident of parties and promotional groups which have formed the electronic dance scene of Russia (Resonance Moscow, System108, Mutabor and Popoff Kitchen) and also to create his own queer party series and a radio show on Test FM «квир мир» (translates as queer world from Russian) with the average attendance of 1000 people. For the last 3 years he has been a resident of the first Russian queer techno party Popoff Kitchen and of the biggest and most respected club in Russia Mutabor (ex Arma-17). Due to his disagreement with the current political situation relating to the war in Ukraine and with attitude towards LGBTQI+ community, Raumtester had to leave Russia. His international career started 4 years ago during which he had managed to play in most European capitals and cities (Germany, Ukraine, France, Portugal, Greece, Italy, etc.). As a DJ in constant research of a balance between the deep existential experi- ence of modular techno and the emotional euphoria of trance’s various spectrums, he formed a skilled style seamlessly stitching togeth- er the genres of the old school and the new school. His musical palette is the natural reflec- tion of his thoughts about the rhythms that reso- nate the inner vibrations of the human body. His musical vision garnered him invitations to record mixes and perform for many respected platforms including Boiler Room, Crack Magazine, HÖR, Ransom Note, Rinse FM etc.

Raumtester always pushes the envelope and finds new ways to express himself as an artist through different forms of art. He has collaborat- ed with GQ Germany, Dazed & Confused, i-D, Love magazine and others spreading his ideolo- gy worldwide.

After moving to Berlin Raumtester now has new “Räume” (rooms) surrounding him which he has yet to test. He explores what can be electronic music today and continues the endless journey into the mystery of the hypnotic and never-ending loop.

LOYBOY (Singapore)

Loy’s reason for wanting to be behind the decks is driven by the sole motive of making people move. He is constantly in search for the connection between space, music and bodies. From euphoric melodies to grimy grooves, his sets will take you on a different journey each time. All while organising his own parties with 5210pm, bringing together a new generation of young ravers.

Unmute x FomoHomo Invites: FAFI ABDEL NOUR

Unmute x FomoHomo Invites: FAFI ABDEL NOUR

FOMOHOMO and UNMUTE are thrilled to invite Fafi Abdel Nour!

Fafi Abdel Nour’s music weaves his life’s experiences into sets that celebrate the golden era of house music, particularly from ’92 to ’98, echoing the communal and liberatory spirit of those times. His selections blend the weird, wacky, and wonderful, embracing queer culture and fostering a space for free experimentation. Fafi’s sound transcends genre constraints, offering dancers a journey through timelessness with everything from spellbinding melodic passages, house-inflected body music and enchanted breakbeats melded into flourishes of ecstatic sensation.

Recognized by RA as a standout breakthrough talent of 2023, Fafi has taken his distinctive sound to iconic locations and showcases, including Amsterdam’s De School’s final party, Panorama Bar, Dekmantel, Boiler Room, and HOR.

As a first-generation Syrian in the Netherlands, Fafi navigated the challenges of cultural integration and embracing his queerness, finding solace and identity in dance music during young adulthood, which led him to advocate for greater inclusivity of artists and DJs of color in the music scene. Fafi’s queer clubnights at OOST in Groningen were born out of this resolve to create community empowerment for marginalized people to transcend beyond the oppressive dominant culture surrounding them.

About the Project T
Seeing the gaps in social service sectors in addressing the needs of Singapore’s transgender community, The T Project filled the gap in providing a safe haven for the homeless in the community.

In 2018, the Alicia Community Centre was opened to reach out to a new group of transgender youths. The Alicia CC provides resources and research for the transgender community and public. At the Alicia CC, we provide a judgement free space for those seeking the social and peer support that other institutions are unable to.

Mission — Supporting Singapore’s trans community to become independent by providing a safe space and social support.
