About the Fundraiser

NBCUniversal International and The Projector are proud to announce a fundraising screening of DRIVE AWAY DOLLS (2024), with 100% of ticket proceeds to be donated to OOGACHAGA, Singapore’s most established community-based, non-profit organisation working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning and queer (LGBTQ+) individuals, couples and families since 1999.

This year, Oogachaga will celebrate a milestone anniversary, marking 25 years of affirming and supporting Singapore’s LGBTQ+ community. The funds raised would go towards the cost of running their professional counselling services and youth program

Drive-Away Dolls

Uninhibited free spirit Jamie (Margaret Qualley) just broke up with her girlfriend (again). Meek bookworm Marian (Geraldine Viswanathan) needs to learn to loosen up. In search of a fresh start, the two best friends embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, Florida. What starts out as a girls’ trip quickly tumbles into catastrophe when they encounter a pair of inept criminals. Along the way there are lesbian bars, soccer teams and, yes, a Miley Cyrus cameo.

Oscar winning Director Ethan Coen (Fargo, The Big Lebowski) and Tricia Cooke’s latest cinematic outing is a raunchy lesbian road comedy and idiosyncratic crime caper that is fun and free-spirited from start to finish. The film’s cheeky, queer insouciance and the electrifying chemistry between its two leads make this a properly fun time at the movies.

“[A] lovingly crafted farce about a community that rarely gets to shine this brightly in mainstream Hollywood movies.” – PITTSBURGH POST GAZETTE

“It’s a joy to see and I for one, can’t wait to watch it again.” – GEEK GIRL AUTHORITY

“The queer joy that frequently peeks through it is more than enough reason to say that it’s a good choice for a fun date night at the movies.” – WASHINGTON BLADE
