Siao Char Bors presents Steph Chan in Gold Star Bisexual

Join the founder Siao Char Bors Comedy, Steph Chan, in the second restaging of her (almost) sold-out comedy special of 2023, Gold Star Bisexual! The first openly bisexual comedian on the Singapore scene, Steph will bring you on a journey of her life, her loves, and what it means to be a Gold Star Bisexual. It’s a show about figuring out who you are at 11, and then spending the next few decades trying to get people to believe it. It’s about how trying to be normal can backfire in the wildest of ways. Or maybe it’s a story about never making up your mind. Either way, it’s a party and everyone’s invited. Expect quality jokes, messed up stories, bisexual puns and a sprinkling of Singapore queer history.

Steph Chan (SG)

Steph Chan has been performing stand up since 2015 and is the host of Siao Char Bors Comedy, a monthly show which highlights women & queer comedians from Singapore and around the world. Steph was the first runner-up in Singapore’s first-ever roast tournament in 2019 and has been described as “anecdotal and raunchy” (Bakchormee Boy) and “please stop embarrassing us” (her younger sister). Steph’s ten years in stand up have seen her perform everywhere from Bangkok to New Orleans, from ice cream parlours to the National Gallery.

Learning About Sexual Minority Affirmative Therapy

Come join us onsite on 4th Feb for a chat with Dr Maha and Eileena on “Learning About Sexual Minority Affirmative Therapy”, the final topic in the mental health series organised by Pelangi Pride Centre!

Sign up via our form through the link

Look forward to an exciting dialogue with our two speakers Dr Maha and Eileena on Eileena’s journey of ‘becoming’ a counsellor while integrating her own lived experiences and reflecting on the LGBTQ+ community she has dedicated to the past two decades. Through this dialogue, you’ll be able to learn what affirmative therapy means from an evidence-based psychological services perspective, as well as become educated consumers and advocates to access psychological services that not only ‘do no harm’ but celebrate our LGBTQ+ community members, and families and allies.

Venue: Physical
Date & Time: 4th Feb 2023 (Saturday), 3:30-5:30 pm

Details about speakers:

Maha Y. See (PsyD in Clinical Psychology) has been in the mental health field since 2006, working with people from across the globe. His practice has focused on healing the trauma of vulnerable and marginalised individuals, such as refugees, survivors of violence, and sexual minorities.

Eileena Lee (M. Counselling) is the co-founder of Pelangi Pride Centre and a counsellor at the T Project. She has served the LGBTQ+ community in Singapore for over two decades. She has the empathy to connect with individuals from different age groups, cultures and backgrounds. As a sexual minority, Eileena provides gender-informed, trauma-informed and LGBTQ-affirmative counselling services from a person-centered perspective.
