FAQs
What is TRANSBEFRIENDERS?
Transbefrienders (TBF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering peer support services for transgender and gender-diverse youths in Singapore. Thier services include personalized befriending services, group support sessions, and subsidized academic tuition. At TBF, they take pride in being a beacon of support, created by and for transgender individuals, ensuring that every young person feels seen, heard, and valued.
What are they going to do with the funds?
TRANSBEFRIENDERS are fundraising to continue their work with trans and gender-diverse folks, and to work with gender care professionals to provide holistic care.
If I cannot come to the event, but would like to support TRANSBEFRIENDERS, can I?
YES! Head here: https://www.transbefrienders.com/support-us
How will we know how much money has been raised?
RIOT! is doing this in partnership with the folks at Baby Boy. When the numbers are finalized, we will be announcing totals and donation amounts through our social media platforms. (@riotdragshow and @babyboypartysg on Instagram)
Why are you only donating $5 of each ticket sale?
As a matter of principle, RIOT! was started as a means to provide employment to performers and other arts workers in the Singapore drag scene. As such, we are committed to paying everybody who works on the night. All performers have agreed to, at minimum, to donate all the tips they receive that night to the donation bucket. Some have asked about donating their performer fees, but as a show, we will not be compelling them to do so.
