ALEX WILCOX
(Berlin)

Alex Wilcox burst onto the scene when Anetha dis-covered his sizzling banger “Sleep Paralysis” which led to his Mama Told Ya EP titled – “It’s Okay to Cry.” As reviewed by Resident Advisor, this “oddball” tech-no release was quickly played by Nina Kraviz, Ellen Al-lien, Mama Snake, Francois X, and countless others.

The release caught the attention of label heads around the world, eventually leading to his recent EPs “BANG BANG BANG!” released on Bjarki’s bbbbbb records, “123” re-leased on Ellen Allien’s UFO inc and «Always» on Nina Kraviz’s label Trip Recordings. These EP’s expand on Alex’s deep and multi-faceted musical background – show-casing surgical, banging, hooky techno with clever and unexpected song progressions that push boundaries and are being played by SPFDJ, Bjarki, Richie Hawtin, Patrick Mason, Anetha, Salome, AADJA, UR TRAX, Anfisa Letya-go, Justin Jay, and many more.

Alex has played at RSO (Berlin), Electrobeach (Port Ba-cares), Abyss (Shanghai), Nexus (Paris), Steppe Arena (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia), The Ground (Miami), PAL (Ham-burg), and countless other cities in the past year.

His sets feature only his own productions and can be des-cribed as a genre-less chaotic whirlwind involving hard cuts, numerous BPM changes and existential theatrical moments.
